Trump has hinted that he will run once more in the US presidential election
Washington: Donald Trump, the leader of the Republican Party and former president, has hinted that he will run once more in the US presidential election.
Trump returned to Washington following his defeat in the election. Trump is coming to Washington following 18 months.
Trump hinted that he would run while speaking at an event organized by the far-right organization America First Policy Institute.
‘As they always say, I won the first race and did even better in the second.’ Trump said.
“We will have to run once more to set this country straight,” Trump said, adding that more details will be shared in the coming weeks and months.
Although he won 10 million more votes in the last election than in the first election, Trump might not catch up with Biden. The high turnout in the election was a setback for Trump.
Trump reiterated the allegations of irregularities in the last presidential election.
At the same time, the investigation team will take evidence from former President Donald Trump as part of the investigation into the attempts to subvert the 2020 US presidential election.
The Washington Post reported earlier statements from witnesses regarding conversations with Trump’s lawyers and close advisers.
The federal investigation is part of the United States Department of Justice’s criminal investigation into the January 6, 2021 riots. Former Vice President Mike Pence’s former chief of staff, Mark Short, and his lawyer, Greg Jacobs, appeared before a grand jury in Washington, D.C., and were subject to questioning.
Justice Department lawyers are investigating meetings Trump led in December 2020 and January 2021, his pressure campaign to use henchmen to rig the election, and his instructions to lawyers and advisers regarding voter fraud.
The first phase of the investigation involved treasonous conspiracy and conspiracy to obstruct government proceedings. The second phase of investigation will also include fraud case related to fake electors.
Reports say that some of the questioning focused on Trump’s direct role in the fraudulent election scheme led by Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman.
