Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on Thursday filed subpoena requests from Trump’s former chief of staff Mark Meadows, attorney Sidney Powell and ex-campaign adviser Boris Epshteyn. James “Phil” Waldron, a Meadows contact, also wants to see Willis before the special jury. Because they do not reside in Georgia, the prosecutor must seek subpoenas from judges in states where the victims are primarily resident.
In her filing, Willis wrote that on December 21, 2020, Meadows attended a White House meeting with Trump and other then-president allies on alleged voter fraud and authentications by Georgia and other states voters.

“Surprise visit” to Cobb County
The next day, Meadows showed up for a “surprise visit” to Cobb County, outside of Atlanta, where signatures on mail-in ballot envelopes were being checked, Willis wrote. The White House chief of staff at the time asked to be allowed to observe the procedure. However, he was denied this because the review was not open to the public.
In late 2020 and early 2021, Meadows emailed Justice Department officials alleging voter fraud in Georgia and elsewhere. He asked for an investigation. On January 2, 2021, Meadows was present during a phone call between Trump and Georgia’s election commissioner Brad Raffensperger: In the conversation, the outgoing president is said to have urged the official to “find” votes to reverse his defeat in the state.
Trump continues to claim victory has been snatched from him, despite federal and state officials, numerous courts, campaign officials and even his own Attorney General, William Barr, stating that there was no evidence of large-scale voter fraud have.
