On July 4, the electoral campaign began as part of the agenda of the National Electoral Council (CNE), in view of the presidential elections scheduled for July 28.
In the Miranda municipality of Trujillo state, the opposition started the campaign in favor of the candidate Edmundo González. Militants from the different parties gathered in the central part of El Dividive and then set out on a jubilant walk through several streets, among slogans, songs and joyful demonstrations, they united in a single voice to support the presidential candidacy of Edmundo González Urrutia and also the leader María Corina Machado.
People from all the parishes of Miranda came and joined in groups to take part in the event. At the arrival point, national and regional leaders who were present spoke, such as Carlos Andrés González of Acción Democrática en Resistencia, who pointed out that this beginning of the campaign is a sign that Venezuela is firmly determined to change and to have a new president, Edmundo González Urrutia.
Yoni Toro, representing Voluntad Popular, also spoke, saying that “we are going to win by a landslide,” but we must continue to organize, work tirelessly toward victory and be alert to any tricks by the government.
The event paid posthumous tribute to the recently deceased Marcos Coronado, a municipal leader who was an example in life of what the fight for democracy is, as noted by youth leader Elixandra Salas in an emotional portrait of Marcos Coronado, in whose honor the campaign command of this municipality was named.
In Miranda, the board of directors of the ‘Marcos Coronado’ Campaign Command With Venezuela is made up of Lewis Mendoza (ST), María Eugenia Leal (ABP), Ever Garcés (VP), Edgar Colmenares (Sales), Eudis Castellanos (EC) and Francisco Falcón (Sales).
The command stated that the electoral campaign to continue the fight for change in Venezuela has been successfully launched, and they pointed out that they are organizing for the deployment of various activities in the coming days together with all the parties of the unit in the Miranda municipality.
