Criticized from all sides for his management of the occupation of the federal capital, Peter Sloly, chief of police of Ottawa, has resigned.

This was confirmed by City Councilor Riley Brockington in a message posted on Twitter on Tuesday before noon.
“A formal statement from the Police Services Board will be made following the closed meeting,” Brockington added.
The resignation comes as the City of Ottawa occupation enters its 19e daytime.
