An accident between two trucks took place this Thursday morning on the E313 motorway in the Antwerp-Liège direction, near Slins (Juprelle), said the Liège firefighters and the federal police.
The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. A driver was stuck in his vehicle for some time and had to be extricated by firefighters. The victim suffered serious injuries, but his life was not in danger, federal police said.
Around 4:15 p.m. this Thursday, the highway was still closed to traffic between Tongeren and Liers (Herstal). “The road is still completely blocked but might soon be reopened to traffic,” explained the federal police.
A diversion has been put in place via exit 32 Tongres. Traffic conditions were very complicated in the surrounding area.
Finally, the highway was able to reopen a little following 7 p.m.
