Troubles in the Anneessens district in the center of Brussels: 9 arrests

Law enforcement officers then made 9 arrests, Brussels-Ixelles police spokeswoman Ilse Van de keere said shortly before midnight, when the situation had become calm once more. There were no reported injuries. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire on the car. A few trash cans were also set on fire on rue Bodeghem.

“We have increased our presence in the neighborhood”, explained Ilse Van de keere. The police deployed in the troubled area. They were advancing in particular alongside a sprinkler.

Thursday evening, in this same district, near Place Rouppe, a police vehicle collided with a motorcyclist who was fleeing a control. He was without a helmet and had no license plate on his motorcycle. The motorcyclist emerged from the accident with minor shoulder and arm injuries.
