Trouble in Heaven? folded is postponed

Rumors have been circulating a lot since the beginning of this year regarding Motorola’s upcoming foldable phone and 200MP camera. Both will come with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The latter will be titled Moto Edge X30 Pro and Edge 30 Ultra depending on the market. The first is the company’s new version of the Moto RAZR series, the Moto RAZR 2022. These devices were expected to come at the same time. However, the Moto RAZR 2022 foldable phone appears to be lagging even further. There is no timetable for the arrival of the foldable phone. So we can only imagine that there is a problem appeared in the last hour.

Moto RAZR 2022 has been postponed until further notice

According to the leaks, the Moto RAZR 2022 will carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The device will not make massive changes to the design. However, the screen gets a major upgrade leaving behind a massive lower chin. The company teased the device and showed it all its glory. However, something happened in the meantime that forced the company to push the launch forward. Other confirmed specs of the foldable device include a 50MP main camera, a 32MP selfie snapper, and a lukewarm 2,800mAh battery. The device will have a hard time competing with the compact Galaxy Z Flip series that is regarding to get its fourth iteration in August.

The Moto RAZR Project was first introduced in 2019. The device arrived with a nostalgic allure that features a design reminiscent of the RAZR series of clamshell smartphones. The device did not achieve much success due to its mid-range specifications. One year later, the company revealed the 5G version. Samsung did something better with the Galaxy Z Flip that leaves no room for a RAZR. The Moto RAZR 2022 promises to fix some bugs. For example, the SoC offers a cutting-edge flagship, and the design is more on par with modern smartphones.

The Moto RAZR definitely needs to prove itself in this segment. Unfortunately, we will have to wait a little longer to see if it works.
