“Tropical Storm Julia, in the Caribbean Sea, characterized by a low pressure zone of 999 hPa, with coordinates 12.7 °N 78.0 °W, continues its displacement towards the west, at a speed of close to 30 km/h (16 knots) and sustained winds of 93 km/h“, reported the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies.

“Tropical storm Julia is forecast to continue its transit in this category to the west in the next few hours and, later, it is expected to strengthen to a hurricane later today, probably in the followingnoon or eveningwhile approaching the islands of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, according to the latest analysis, there is a high probability that Julia will pass directly by San Andrés Island“, he added.
