The Miami-based NHC said: Ernesto will produce tropical storm force winds and heavy rains to parts of the Leeward Islands beginning tonight.
He also stressed that the alerts for Tuesday include Saint Kitts and Nevis, Montserrat, Antigua, Barbuda and Anguilla, Guadeloupe, Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy, Vieques and Culebraaccording to the NHC bulletin at 17:00 local time (21:00 GMT).
The tropical storm It is located about 475 kilometres (295 mi) east southeast of Antiguaabout 950 kilometers (590 miles) east of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Ernesto has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (40 miles) and moves “rapidly” towards the west-northwest at 44 kilometers per hour (28 miles).

On the forecast path it is expected that Ernesto is expected to move across portions of the Leeward Islands late tonight or Tuesday.and Tuesday is approaching at night to the US and British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
It is then forecast to move away from Puerto Rico. over the western Atlantic by midweek.
So far this hurricane season in the Atlantic basin, which began on June 1stfive tropical storms have formed, Alberto, Beryl, Chris, Debby and Ernesto.
