MEXICO CITY.- This followingnoon the tormenta tropical “Aletta”, the first tropical cyclone of the 2024 season in the Pacific Ocean, reported the National Meteorological System (SMN).
Through social networks, the National Water Comission (Conagua) confirmed the formation of “Aletta”, just hours following the formation of the tropical depression Uno-E.

Conagua and the SMN confirmed the formation of the first cyclonic system in the Pacific basin this season, tropical depression One-E.
The formation of Tropical Storm Aletta occurred from Tropical Depression One-E.
The report for this Thursday followingnoon indicates that it is located 310 km west-southwest of Manzanillo, Colima, and 315 km south-southwest of Cape Corrientes, Jalisco.
At the moment it has sustained winds of 65 km/h with gusts of 85 km/h, moving northwest at 17 km/h.
Due to its formation, winds with gusts of 50 to 70 km/h, waves of 1 to 3 meters high and possible formation of waterspouts on the coasts of Michoacán, Colima and Jalisco are expected.
In its projections, the SMN It indicates that the tropical storm will move away from the coasts of Mexico, degrading to a tropical depression early tomorrow morning and remaining that way.
It is expected to become a remnant low pressure system by early Saturday morning.
Heavy rains are expected in Jalisco, Colima y Michoacanwhich may be accompanied by electrical discharges and possible hail.
In addition to causing an increase in the levels of rivers and streams, landslides, puddles and flooding in low-lying areas of the indicated states.
The general population is advised to take extreme precautions in the areas of the states mentioned due to rain, wind and waves and to follow the recommendations issued by the authorities of the National Civil Protection Systemin each entity.
