Tropical cyclone will reach Venezuela in the early hours of this Wednesday

They might ban flights in states affected by the cyclone.

Delcy Rodríguez, Executive Vice President, announced that the tropical cyclone will arrive around 2:00 in the morning this Wednesday to the eastern coasts of the country.

The authorities announced that from this Tuesday at 1:00 pm departures in the country are prohibited and will maintain flight restrictions in the states that are affected.

They predicted prolonged rains and winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour, for which they asked the population to secure doors and windows.

They explained that the tropical cyclone will directly affect nine states: Sucre, Anzoátegui, Nueva Esparta, Miranda, La Guaira, Aragua, Carabobo, Falcón, Zulia and Caracas. The meteorological phenomenon would be reaching the east and moving to the west of the country.

He noted that on the instructions of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, the “governors and mayors must determine the areas of vulnerability so that they can be addressed immediately.”

For his part, the Minister for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, A/J Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, reported that “the entire Comprehensive System and the civil protection bodies are activated.”

He urged the population to “keep calm and quiet.”

“Shelters will be maintained for any contingency. We will have rain and strong winds. We work jointly to protect the lives of citizens, we have a large reserve of goods and food to protect the people.
