It was not the ideal test in terms of results, but there are several lessons following the friendly match played by the Colombia U-20 team once morest Wales in Murcia, Spain, as part of the preparation for the World Cup in Indonesia.
Héctor Cárdenas’s team went from better to worse and suffered from their own mistakes at the end, to sign a 2-0 defeat that gave several clues regarding the future of the team.

Colombia played a very controlled first half, with two clear options: Gustavo Puerta, who lost the final duel with the Welsh goalkeeper, and Jorge Cabezas, whose shot went a bit wide.
The best thing was the contribution and the change that the team felt with a sacrificed Yaser Asprilla, returning to his own half to have more contact with the ball and take advantage of his precise pass.
For the complement, Wales advanced their lines and went more decisively on the goal of Castillo, who did not have his best game.
Alexis Castillo Manyoma, Óscar Cortés and Jorge Cabezas left to make way for Tomás Ángel, Luis Díaz and Mateo Mejía following 54 minutes and the team suffered a normal decompensation: the changes did not give the best result.
And so, at minute 64, Daniel Pedrozo wanted to give the pass back but it fell short and the Welsh, more veloes, took the opportunity to provoke Castillo’s mistake, who was scored with an empty goal.
Cárdenas’s team did not recover and the second fell to 90 +3, following a doubt between Fernando Álvarez and Castillo that an opponent took advantage of to score and declare it 2-0.
In the end, the national DT drew his conclusions and tried alternatives for the World Cup beyond the bad result.
