Triumph of Santa Fe in Santa Marta: beat Unión Magdalena 0-2 in the Sierra Nevada

Santa Fe achieved this Sunday three valuable points in his visit to Union Magdalena , a team that throughout the semester has maintained a good level and more in its stadium: the Sierra Nevada. The ‘cardenal’ team beat the ‘bananeros’ by 0-2 thanks to annotations from the white point of the penalty of their scorer Wilson Morelo and Andrey Estupiñán.

The match of date 14 of the Colombian soccer league began with the pitch inclined for the home owners, who had Roberto Hinojosa, as usual, their most important man in terms of creation. He tried to team up with Fabián Cantillo and Ricardo ‘el Caballo’ Márquez, who returned to the title of the ‘samario’ box after recovering from injury.

The one who was injured precisely in the visitor was the goalkeeper Leandro Castellanos at 18 minutes. After being treated, the ‘cardenal’ goalkeeper asked for the change and José Silva entered in his place.

It was Cantillo who had the clearest for Unión Magdalena, in the first half, which had sporadic arrivals from both clubs. The stopwatch marked 23 minutes when Cantillo received a great pass from Márquez, but the number ’24’, who was hand in hand with Silva and who was already defeated, threw the ball outside. A clear goal was lost for the Union!

On the ‘cardinal’ side, he had a couple of attempts from outside the area with Matías Mier and José Enamorado, but without danger for Carlos Bejarano’s goal.

In the second part came the goals, the emotions and also some controversial actions. At 56 minutes, in an incredible way, Enamorado missed what was a ‘sung goal’ for Santa Fe. There was lamentation on the visiting bench.

But at minute 57, Wilson Morelo entered the area and after a trip by Palomino, judge Wilmar Roldán did not hesitate to award a penalty for the reds from the capital. Morelo himself stood in front of the ball and changed the execution for a goal.

After the visitors’ score, Unión “turned” to the Santa Fe area and left several spaces in the back, which were almost capitalized by the visitors, if it were not for Bejarano’s interventions.

At minute 75, Ricardo ‘el Caballo’ Márquez was saved from expulsion and all for kicking Carlos Lizarazo without the ball. Roldán only took out the yellow one, there were protests from the ‘cardinals’. The VAR did not attend to the play.

The one who was not saved from seeing the red card Jonathan Barboza, from the ‘lion’. The Uruguayan elbowed the Argentine Facundo Stable and Roldán showed him the cardboard of that color. There were also claims on the part of Santa Fe, since they did not consider that it was not a big deal and that of Márquez, yes.

In the final minutes, Santa Fe was able to score one more target. Lopera committed a “childish” action: she punched Morelo in the lower part of the stomach, in the area. The defender of the ‘cyclone’ was sent off immediately, but then the VAR called Roldán to review the play and after it, he decided to call a penalty. Andrey Estupiñán masterfully took the penalty, completely deceiving Bejarano. 0-2 on the board and a great triumph for the ‘lion’ in Santa Marta.

With the result, Santa Fe reached 21 points, while Unión Magdalena stayed at 24 points.
