A British custom is not quite like the others. It is not the Machiavellian character of an American mechanism or the decorum of a Japanese production. It’s a smarter presence, with the fat of English boxing and a desire for precedence. Even in this Stealth edition, the sense of value wants to stand out.
This is how the 2024 special collection within the Triumph range is named: STEALTH – which can be translated as discreet or furtive. Stealth the Speedmaster? My eye, yes! Originally, this motorcycle is impressive. With a nice pencil stroke, this two-seater extrapolation of the Bobber does not lack charm. It is currently venturing towards fleeting audacity with its two-tone tank.
But not just any color duo. Or rather, not as we usually think of it. Everything is played with a gradient on the Stealth, going from black to a specific color. The Speedmaster appears to be enjoying a large glass of Bordeaux, whose offset gravity would slowly push the tannin forward. Classy, deep; presumptuous perhaps.
Hand painted following several rigorous steps, the tank can boast an almost unique style, varying in intensity and contrast depending on the light. Why almost? Because the 1200 Speed Twin Stealth cousin gets the same Sapphire Black/Silver Red treatment.
Like the “Gold Line” and the “Chrome”, the Triumph “Stealth” will only be available for one year. The nuanced paint is billed here at 800 euros. A sustained price, which adds to an already hefty bill.
