Jamie Poepoe, the third child of the triplets, recently shared with the world the special moment of opening the capsule and the incredible contents inside.
Jamie is a Human Resources Specialist living in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. Jamie’s mom, Lisa, 60, and dad, John, 63, live near Charlotte, North Carolina.
“I am one of four children in my family,” Jamie told The Epoch Times. “The triplets Scotty, Jonnie and I (in order of birth) are 25 years old this year. We There is also an older sister, Jessie, who will turn 27 in June. Right now, only my older brother, Scotty, and I remain in our hometown of Pittsburgh.
Jamie’s mother started making time capsules when Jamie was a child and treasured them on a shelf above a wardrobe at home to give to the children on their 25th birthdays.
Jamie vividly recalled that when she was a child, she often looked at the mysterious box on the shelf curiously. However, in her ignorance at that time, it seemed that the time to open it was still long. But time flies, and the triplets’ 25th birthday (April 21 this year) is approaching.
“My older sister Jessie has a separate time capsule, and our triplets share one,” Jamie said. “We chose to open the capsule a week before our birthday because we don’t have many opportunities for siblings to get together.”
The second of the triplets, Jonny, was busy moving in another state, so Jamie and Scotty FaceTimed with Jonny to open the time capsule, with Jamie taking care of capturing the special moment on camera.

From the video, it can be seen that the capsule contained a large number of precious items from the triplets’ childhood, including letters between family members and close friends, baby clothes and toys, and even a videotape, full of mother’s infinite love. and caring.
Jamie said: “My mum wrote us almost ten letters. In one of them, she shared that she purposely made one capsule for us triplets instead of three because she wanted us to be able to share on our birthdays. Get together. She set the opening time at “25 years old” because this is a very pivotal point in her life, and she knows it is the same for us.
“It also contained the bibs we wore for our first birthday, the onesies my mom made with our names on them, the hospital hats we wore when we were newborns, the crystal cross pendant, and a welcome gift for us. Custom wine bottles, baby shoes for baby showers, Beanie Babies and dolls that we love, and silver half dollars that Grandpa gave each of us.”
For Jamie, the letters touched her heart and the objects fueled a deep sense of nostalgia.
The triplets “laughed, smiled, and shed tears of happiness” as they opened the time capsule.
“My father is a pilot, and he is away all year round. The burden of taking care of our four siblings falls on my mother alone. She feeds us, changes diapers, and tries to take us out to play. In short, she is very busy every day.” , Jamie said, “but it’s a wonder she’s put the effort into storing and preserving these items so they can be put into capsules.”
Jamie was so moved by her mother’s elaborate time capsule that she vowed to create something similar for her future children.
“Every time I revisit these letters, I am thrilled to realize how much my parents loved us,” Jamie said. It’s been so long, and it’s unbelievable not to leave them behind every time I move!”
