While the next mission to allow Man to return to the Moon is planned for 2025, we learn that the suits will be made by the prestigious Prada brand.

The astronauts of the Artemis III mission, planned for 2025 and whose objective is to return man to the Moon, will wear suits signed Prada, reports the BBC. The Italian high-fashion brand will work in collaboration with Axiom Space, a company that supplies space equipment.

“Prada will provide its expertise on the materials and manufacturing of the outfit”explained Prada and Axiom in a joint press release. “We will use innovative technologies and design to enable greater exploration of the lunar surface than ever before.”

A return to the Moon following more than fifty years

“Given its design experience, I think Prada is up to this challenge”declared an astronaut at the BBC microphone, who was delighted with this collaboration. “Prada has considerable experience in various types of fabrics and may be able to make real technical contributions to the outer layers of the new spacesuit”, rejoiced Professor Jeffrey Hoffman, who has already participated in four missions in space. He also clarified that the astronauts will not wear “cashmere jumpsuits or jumpsuits with fanciful patterns”.

No one has returned to the Moon since Apollo 17 in December 1972. In the crew of Artemis III, there will be Christina Koch, who is expected to become the first woman to walk on the Moon.
