A retired forestry worker in his 80s tragically lost his life in a house fire in County Cavan on Thursday evening. The incident occurred around 10 pm at the man’s home in Drumina, Virginia. Emergency services,including Gardaí,rushed to the scene but were unable to save the man.
The man, identified as Charlie Morgan, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to Cavan General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The body was removed to Cavan Mortuary and a post mortem examination will be conducted in due course.
