Actress Erica Ash, known for her role in ‘Scary Movie 5’, passed away at the age of 46, as her publicist announced through The Hollywood Reporter on Monday, July 29.
The actress, who also starred in Broadway projects like ‘The Lion King’ and was a lead in television shows ‘MADtv’ and ‘Survivor’s Remorse’, died on Sunday, July 28, after battling cancer.
“Erica was an incredible woman and a talented artist who touched countless lives with her sharp wit, humor, and genuine enthusiasm for life. Her memory will live on forever in our hearts,” her family said in a statement released by The Hollywood Reporter.
Loni Love, former host of the talk show ‘The Real’, was one of the first to bid farewell to her friend and share the news of her sudden passing: “I am sad to confirm that my friend and fellow actress Erica Ash has passed away… Erica was talented and hilarious, whether in Survivor’s Remorse or MADtv, she gave her all to her work. She would always be there… Now she is gone… My sincere condolences to her family and fans.”
