In a message published Sunday evening on the social network X (formerly Twitter), Céline Dion paid tribute to Jean-Pierre Ferland the day following the latter’s death.
“You wrote me kisses that light me up better than all the stars. Court life took you away with the love notebooks from my room at the Hôtel Saint Amant. The women you loved so much are sad. The night goes to bed crying. Farewell Jean-Pierre. I will always love you…always…always…”, wrote Céline Dion.
The singer then continued in English to explain who Mr. Ferland was.

“Jean-Pierre Ferland was a French-Canadian poet and songwriter and television host, a true gentleman who loved women, writing hundreds of songs that became a part of our lives,” she explained. Two of them were written for me, which created a strong bond between us. I pay homage to him by using lyrics chosen from these songs. Rest in peace, dear friend, you will forever remain in my heart.”
Remember that Jean-Pierre Ferland died at the age of 89 on Saturday of natural causes.
