To broadcast leaks or not?
A little reminder, leaks or leaks, is the unauthorized dissemination of confidential data and in the video game world it happens. Last week is GTA 6the most awaited game of recent years which paid the price and spread over the web through 90 video extracts from a pre-alpha version. While some people take offense to the fact that the leaks are a disrespect for the work of the developers, others sketch a big smile as they revel in the previews of their future favorite games. A big divide that separates the public into two very distinct parts. On the one hand, those who want to know and understand the leaks and on the other hand, those who do not want them to be exploited. Since the monumental leak of GTA 6, it is the second category that is gaining popularity and asking to stop sharing and exploiting its leaks in order to keep a mystery of the game. In this video of the Tribunal, the editorial staff of JV invites you to discover two opposing camps by presenting their arguments.
Leaked images are never an advantage for the company producing a game. Indeed, in the production, the finished product, graphically speaking, is revealed very late in development. But an image in progress, without artifice, is therefore very dangerous for communication around a project. For some people, the press and content creators need to talk regarding leaks. If information is available, it must be relayed to the public without spoilers. Everyone is free to inform themselves or not regarding the content.
