On January 17, the company identified an unauthorized access to a customer support site operated by a third party. THE as reported the data of users who have contacted Trezor’s customer service since December 2021 may have fallen into unauthorized hands.

In principle, no one has lost money so far with the Trezor leak

According to the announcement, it has not yet been confirmed that the data was actually leaked, but Trezor wanted to inform its customers regarding the possibility. As a result, the chance that these users will be targeted by phishing attacks has significantly increased. All 66,000 users received an e-mail regarding what happened. According to current information, no one has yet lost money as a result of the data breach, but at least 41 users have already received a letter asking them for information regarding their key. So far, no one has succumbed to the fraudsters’ attack.

Trezor is a popular cold wallet manufacturer, it is no wonder that in recent years it has been attacked quite a few times and various security holes have been discovered. In March 2023, for example, the company once more warned users regarding the danger of a phishing attack. Then they asked users in e-mails to enter their keys on a fake Trezor website. There were also really sophisticated campaigns, in one of which, for example, fraudsters sold fake Trezor devices in order to gain access to users’ money. So Trezor users pay attention, the company never asks us to enter our private key and keywords.
