Trees from more than 190 countries participating in the Dubai Expo will now grow in Dubai soil. The project to plant unique tree saplings from different countries in Dubai was launched as part of the UAE Environment Day celebrations.
Tree saplings from more than 190 countries will now be grown in the plant nursery at the Dubai Expo. The project is with the message ‘UAE’s message to the world, let’s work now on climate change’. The project was inaugurated by the Minister of Environment of the United Arab Emirates, Mariam Bint Mohammed Al Maheri, by planting the Gaf, the national tree of the UAE, and other unique saplings.
The Minister also planted cedar and acacia trees growing in the UAE. Expo Director General and Minister of State Reem Al Hashmi also attended the event. Representatives of different countries also planted saplings of their respective countries. “This is the legacy of the UAE’s Father of the Nation Sheikh Zayed and the world must join hands to protect the environment,” he said. Until World Environment Day, June 5, saplings from different countries will be planted in the nursery at the Expo venue. The decision was made to protect them later.
