Ways to treat watery eyes

1- Clean the eye

Keeping the eyes clean by washing them gently helps remove any dust or irritants to the eyes if they are exposed to wind, windy air, or allergies.

2- Cold compresses

A cold, clean cloth can be placed on the eye for as long as possible, in order to reduce tearing and inflammation.

3- Massage

Gently massaging the eyelids can stimulate the natural functions of the eyes during a cold, as this method helps by stimulating the sebaceous glands in the eyelids.

4- Rest as much as possible

During colds and influenza, the immune system is busy spending energy to get rid of the virus or bacteria, so getting plenty of rest helps flush out the virus more quickly, and then fight watery eyes.

5- Maintaining body moisture

Drinking water regularly and eating chicken soup helps reduce the thickness of mucus, and thus drains it from the nose faster and reduces watery eyes, in addition to that it will help to replace those fluids that the person lost due to runny nose and watery eyes.

6- Warm compresses

Warm compresses should be used, as warmth can help moisturize and clean the nose and eyes, thus relieving congestion and watering.
