Asuncion, IP Agency.- A successful day of itinerant surgeries was held at the Encarnación Regional Hospital in Itapúa, which included 17 surgical interventions of various specialties. The initiative seeks to reduce the waiting list for surgeries at the institution and offer quality medical care to patients in the region.
The interventions performed included four upper endoscopies, two colonoscopies, four inguinal hernioplasties, one eventroplasty, one open cholecystectomy and five laparoscopic cholecystectomies.
According to the Ministry of Health’s report, the implementation of these mobile surgery days has proven to be an effective strategy to care for patients who require surgical interventions and who, for various reasons, cannot access them in a timely manner.
These workshops bring specialized medical care closer to communities and contribute to improving the quality of life of the population.
Authorities at the Encarnación Regional Hospital were satisfied with the results of the day and highlighted the commitment of the medical team and hospital staff to provide quality care to patients.
They said that these sessions will continue to be scheduled on a regular basis to ensure that more people can access the necessary surgical interventions in a shorter time.
