We expect a lot of people on the roads today in the direction of departures. We met a few vacationers who got behind the wheel early this morning. Cornelius thus goes to the Morvan for the holidays where he intends to stay for three weeks. “I know the road well. Today it’s very calm,” he told us. For his part Romain hopes to arrive at the end of the day in the south-west of France. “We have a 10-hour drive, we take short breaks every hour. We have a little coffee, something to eat and we sit in the sun for a bit”, says the young man.
Note that this weekend is synonymous with the first weekend of school holidays in French-speaking Belgium as in France. Touring therefore foresees difficult traffic in Europe with some slowdowns (orange color code), or even very difficult locally (red code) in the direction of the south.
