Heathrow • Travel restrictions for those traveling from China to England came into force yesterday. The earlier restrictions were lifted last March. Restrictions have now been imposed only on people coming from China due to the spread of Covid-19. After a while, England came with a decisive decision in the situation of XBB 1.5, a new variant of Covid, spreading once more in China.
People arriving in the country from China should take a covid test two days before traveling and show the result to the flight crew. Children below 11 years of age were excluded from the test. The rule applies to all other passengers and direct/indirect flights. It is also recommended to wear a mask. The test result can be sent on paper or by email. But it must contain name, date of birth, test result, date of sample collection and address. The warning says that all passengers above the age of 18 should undergo a covid test even following arriving at Heathrow Airport.
The government is imposing new restrictions amid news that Covid is likely to spread in the country. Officials also informed that this rule does not apply to passengers from any other country except China. Many countries, including the US, France and India, have introduced covid tests for those arriving from China. Following this, those traveling on direct flights from China were asked to undergo a covid test before departure.
