Delhi court allows Jacqueline Fernandez to go abroad. The court granted permission to travel citing that it is for the honor of the country. Unnecessary travel bans should not be imposed, the court said, adding that their film received an Oscar nomination. Jacqueline Fernandez’s 2022 film ‘Tell It Like A Woman’ has received an Oscar nomination in the Original Song category.

The ED asked the court to deny Jacqueline Fernandez’s travel permission pointing out that he had received Rs 7.12 crore from Sukesh Chandrasekhar, who is accused of extorting Rs 217 crore from family members of former Fortis promoters in connection with money laundering. The agency also argued in the court that it should not travel abroad while the investigation is going on.

But the court observed that Jacqueline Fernandez’s going abroad was not for her own purpose and said that she was going to participate in the annual bottler conference in Dubai and even if she was an accused person, her travel would not be a denial of liberty.

The judge said that he was convinced regarding the case once morest Jacqueline Fernandez and its importance, and said that 1 crore rupees should be attached to Jacqueline Fernandez and that the amount would be confiscated by the ED if she did not return. The travel details and return date should be clearly communicated to the agency.

Jacqueline Fernandez informed the court that if she does not participate in the event in Dubai, she will be threatened with a lawsuit for compensation. Jacqueline Fernandez was also allowed to travel abroad on May 28, 2022.
