The board of directors of Transtejo resigned this Thursday, following the opinion of the Court of Auditors, which considered the deal worth 52.4 million euros in the purchase, through a public tender, of electric boats to be harmful to the State. without the respective batteries corresponding to nine vessels that, in this way, might not function.

“Transtejo bought a complete ship and nine incomplete ships, unable to function, because they did not have the necessary batteries for the purpose. The same thing would be, with the necessary adaptations, buying a car without an engine, a motorcycle without wheels or a bicycle without pedals, reserving them for a procedure subsequent to their acquisition. In fact, one cannot even speak of ships without batteries, just as one cannot speak, for example, of ships without an engine or without a rudder. This is because they constitute a an integral part (i.e., they make up) of those same ships”, can be read in a ruling by the Court of Auditors placed online on Wednesday.
The decision to dismiss the administration was announced at a press conference earlier this followingnoon, in Lisbon, by the chairman of the board of directors, Marina Ferreira, guaranteeing that “the procedure was well done and promoted the public interest”.
In fact, the manager even considers that the considerations of the Court of Auditors “are offensive and outrageous”.
