Transporters call for a national strike; this is how it will affect Yucatan

MEXICO CITY.- The organization United Transporters announced a national strike for this one Friday, June 28on various roads in the country, including blockades at the height of the Mexico-Puebla highway toll booths and the Merida-Cancun.

In addition to the highways, protesters also plan to demonstrate at airports in Quintana Roo.

In a statement, the transporters announced that they will protest the lack of payments to suppliers of basaltic rock for the construction of the Mayan Train, material that has already been delivered.

They are therefore demanding payment of 90 million pesos owed by the federal government.

When will the carrier strike take place?

According to their call, the strike will begin this Friday, June 28 at 8:00 am.

They indicated that around 30 trailers will block the Amozoc toll booth in Puebla, out of a total of 130 that will be added throughout the country.

Blockades in Quintana Roo

  • 20 trailer-type cargo units (Gondola) located in Front 7 Choose Ha Bacalar at 8:00 a.m.
  • 10 trailer-type cargo units (Gondola) located on federal highway 186 at the height of C4, located on the Chetumal-Huay Pix highway, at 8:00 a.m.
  • 10 trailer-type cargo units (Gondola) on federal highway 307 and its junction with the Tulum Airport at 10:00 a.m.

They also warned of closures in:

  • Tickets to Mexico City
  • Mexico-Cuernavaca toll booth
  • Mexico-Querétaro
  • Mexico-Pachuca
  • La Antigua toll booth entrance to Veracruz Port
  • Merida-Cancun at the height of Chichen Itza
  • Mexico-Puebla
  • Cancun Airport
