The popular boy group MIRROR held a concert at the Red Pavilion at the end of last month. When it went on sale in May, it was hard to get a ticket, which attracted the “scalper party” empty group. A 20-year-old young man wanted to get a piece of the pie. He was suspected of forging fake concert tickets and selling them at a price of HK$10,000. The buyer found out when they were handed over at the subway station, and another four suspected fake tickets were issued. The young man involved in the case pleaded guilty to one count of obtaining property by deception and one count of possessing false documents at the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Court today (16th).
The 20-year-old defendant Su Lelin, who reported as a transport worker, is accused of dishonestly obtaining 1 Cao Cao at the MTR Cheung Sha Wan Station lobby by deceptive means, namely selling 2 fake concert tickets on May 8, 2022 The woman with the surname of HK$10,000 intends to permanently deprive her of her property; and keeps 4 fake concert tickets in the same place on the same day. The facts of the case allege that the victim saw someone on Facebook reselling 2 MIRROR concert tickets for HK$10,000, so he asked the other party to settle the tickets at Cheung Sha Wan MTR Station at 10 o’clock on the night of the crime. The two people handed over the money and the tickets at the time, but the victim saw that the envelope containing the tickets was surprisingly light, so he opened it for inspection. Seeing that the quality of the tickets looked like fake tickets, he questioned the defendant. After Hong Kong dollars, he fled, and some passers-by assisted the defendant to subdue the defendant and called the police. The police recovered 6,000 Hong Kong dollars from the defendant and found another 4 fake tickets.
The defense pleaded that the defendant in the two cases was young and lived with his adoptive parents. He committed this crime just to increase his income and satisfy his girlfriend’s shopping desire. The defendant left the correctional institution in January this year for committing another crime, and then worked in the food stall for 2 months, but following committing the crime, he was dismissed and might only work as a casual transport worker with unstable income. I hope the court will consider the defendant’s guilty plea and add There is no evidence to show that the fake tickets were made by the defendant, and the sentence is as light as possible. The magistrate pointed out that the defendant had premeditated the crime. In addition to the two fake tickets sold to the victim, he also had four fake tickets. He committed the crime by taking advantage of the mentality of others who wanted to enjoy the concert. Moreover, he committed another crime just 5 months following he was released from prison, and decided to use 7.5 months in prison for each charge as the starting point for sentencing. After deduction, he was sentenced to 5 months in prison.
