Transplanted the same day in the same place, two strangers end up getting married

They were meant to be together. Transplanted the same day at the same hospital, Taylor Giver and Collin Kobelja ended up getting married. A story that makes you smile.

The place of their meeting does not make one dream and yet, their story has something to amaze more than one. On June 9, 2011, Taylor Giver and Collin Kobelja each received heart transplants and were recovering within a few hospital rooms of each other. At the start, nothing predestined these two to finish together. The contacts were cold when they met in the hallways. The atoms hooked between them were not perceptible.

It wasn’t until five years later that a romance began, following a Facebook message sent by Collin. “There was a very strong connection that we did not expect at all”, explained Taylor. Soon they started dating. As they remember, their first meeting took place in a Chinese restaurant and was marked by an anecdote that they wanted to share. In particular, they recounted having laughed out loud when they both had to take their medication. The same, at the same time during dinner.

“It was awesome”

So it wasn’t long before they realized they were meant to be together. “It was great to start dating someone you don’t have to explain anything to. You can just go regarding your life the normal way,” Collin explained, adding that they ended up settling in Maryland together. Eventually, their love materialized into a wedding in 2019.

Since then, both have had serious health problems but have overcome these obstacles hand in hand. While Taylor is now in remission from lymphoma, Collin has had to undergo three more heart transplants. Today, the two are well and continue to spin the perfect love.
