The Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization received in audience this Tuesday, February 7, 2023, the Ambassador and Resident Representative of ECOWAS in Guinea.
In the presence of the Minister Delegate for National Defense, discussions between Mory Condé and Louis Blaise Aka Brou essentially revolved around the conduct of the ongoing transition in Guinea.
“Bearing a message from the Economic Community of West African States, Mr. BROU told us of the sub-regional organization’s desire to maintain good relations with our country. To this end, our discussions focused on the transition process in Guinea and the support of ECOWAS in the organization of free, inclusive and transparent elections,” explained the Minister of Territorial Administration.
In response, Mory Condé on behalf of Prime Minister Dr. Bernard Goumou, explained that the will of the CNRD and to create all the conditions for the people of Guinea for the success of the transition.
“I also recalled that thanks to the effective involvement of the ECOWAS mediator, President Thomas YAYI BONI, in October 2022, in a dynamic compromise, the experts from ECOWAS and Guinea jointly developed a timetable consolidation of the transition spread over 24 months, the start of which was set for January 01, 2023,” added the boss of MATD.
Speaking, the Minister Delegate for National Defense did not fail to explain to the representative of the sub-regional institution, the CNRD’s commitment to respecting the key stages of the timetable and the transition.
At the end of the discussions, Blaise Aka Brou reassured the members of the CNRD government that ECOWAS will spare no effort to support the country in the process leading to the return to constitutional order, explained Minister Mory Condé in a post on his official Facebook page.
