Asuncion, IP Agency.- Users, who come to the waiting room of the outpatient clinics of the Regional Hospital of Concepción, in the first department, participated in an educational talk on addiction prevention, within the framework of the SUMAR Plan.

The focus of this discussion, while patients and their families wait for their turn for care, is to provide guidance on the importance of mental health care and the prevention of all types of addictions, including alcohol and drugs.

The informative talk was given by psychologists Lic. Leticia Martínez Casuriaga and Lic. Maura Coronel, from the Mental Health Unit of the First Health Region – Concepción, a department that develops these awareness-raising talks on the signs and symptoms associated with drug use, as well as the promotion of preventive actions.

The SUMAR Plan is an initiative of the Government of Paraguay that articulates three axes among its institutions: prevention of the problematic use of psychoactive substances, treatment and rehabilitation of people with addictions, and combating drug trafficking.
