The units, which are rental at a price of $2,300 per month, are built on three floors spread over 350 square feet, where everything is thought out to maximize space.

Thus, there are drawers in a staircase and a desk that can be stored on the wall.

The kitchen and the bathroom are on the ground floor, on the first floor there is a living room and the bedroom is on the second floor.

According to a designer of these housing units, there are other buildings in the city that might accommodate such projects.

“There is enormous potential to develop existing buildings, explains the architect of the firm Le Borgne Rizk, Amani Rizk. What is interesting here is that we did not start from scratch, we recovered to make a rather exceptional project.

“So to use this built heritage that we have in Montreal to stem the housing crisis, it’s possible,” she adds.
