Transformation of Woman Attacked by Chimpanzees Until Face Deformed

Jakarta

Charla Nash’s life changed completely following an incident was attacked by a chimpanzee. In 2009, a chimpanzee ripped Charla’s face apart.

Charla helps bring in a chimpanzee named Travis who was a friend’s pet following her escape. The 14-year-old, 200-pound chimpanzee then brutally abused Charla.

The chimpanzee started by tearing off the eye, then the nose, jaw, lips, and most of the scalp. The animal, which in fact lives in the wild, broke a bone in its face and left a brain tissue injury.

Travis, the chimpanzee who looked angry was finally shot to death. Charla’s friend tries to stop the chimpanzee from going wild by stabbing him with a knife, but he remains brutal.

Charla ended up blind because doctors had to remove her eyes due to an infection from the chimpanzee. At that time, Charla might have died, but she survived the attack but left a contrasting appearance from before.

Amazingly, Charla was able to survive the slump and spent years undergoing an extraordinary transformation. Charla Nash became the first person in the US to receive a face transplant in 2011 that made her feel like a human once more.

Charla’s face transplant is a success, for which she initially hides behind a veil following the attack. Charla revealed her incredible transformation for the first time during an interview with Today.
“I have come a long way. I never thought it would be like this,” said Charla.

“Every day I build a little strength and try to be a little more aggressive with the things I want to do. I was a very independent person (before the attack), and having to rely on people to do every little thing for me was a challenge. ” he added.

Although the face transplant was a success, the hand transplant was a failure. The 69-year-old woman had pneumonia and had to be removed because of the infection and poor circulation.
