Karachi: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded the transfer of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was sentenced to three years in prison in the Tosha Khana case, to the court. The petition filed in the Islamabad High Court has demanded that he be transferred to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi for security reasons.
The petition demands that Imran be provided with the facilities allowed to political prisoners and that family members and his doctor be allowed visits.
Imran is currently lodged in Attock Jail in Punjab. The trial court sentenced Imran and directed him to be admitted to Adiala Jail. On the contrary, it was transferred to Attock.
The Shahbaz Sharif government has imposed more than 140 cases on Imran following he was ousted through a no-confidence motion.
