Transfer failed: Chelsea miss out on Batshuayi loan to Nottingham – SOCCER

Michy Batshuayi (28) knows the procedure. When the transfer window opens, the Belgian Chelsea striker usually doesn’t know which club he’ll be scoring goals for a few weeks later.

In 2016, the Belgian came to Chelsea from Olympique Marseille for 39 million euros. Since then he has been loaned out five times, to BVB, FC Valencia, twice to Crystal Palace, most recently to Besiktas Istanbul.

Batshuyai should now leave the Blues once more and be loaned to newly promoted Nottingham Forest on Deadline Day. But the planned last-minute change failed because the clubs were unable to conclude the negotiations in time. Chelsea did not manage to submit the necessary documents in time!

The “Blues” had several construction sites in the last hours of Deadline Day. The purchase of Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (33) had to be finalized, Denis Zakaria (25) was loaned out by Juventus Turin. In addition, Marcos Alonso (31) left the club for Barça, Ethan Ampadu (21) was loaned to Spezia.

It would have been the 22nd (!) transfer of the summer for Nottingham. But if you are late, you will be penalized by the transfer window in this case…

Batshuayi (contract until 2023), who does not play a role in Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel’s plans, must now look for a new club. It is quite possible that he will return to the SüperLig. The transfer window in Turkey is open until September 8th.

Besiktas rivals Fenerbahce are said to be interested in signing. Batshuayi scored 14 times in 42 games for Besiktas last season.

During his time at BVB (January to June 2018), the striker scored seven times in ten Bundesliga games and twice in four Europa League games before a torn ligament in his ankle put him out of action.

Basthuayi has 45 caps for Belgium, scoring 25 goals.
