A low-cost subsidiary of Air France-KLM, the airline Transavia adds Dubai to its batch of destinations. From the end of October, three new direct flights will be scheduled each week from Lyon from 159 euros one way. That is nearly 400 euros less than the only existing direct line, Emirates.

10 hours of flight
Savings in earnings therefore, but not in time. Count 10 hours of flight once morest 6 hours via the Emirati company. Outbound flights will depart from Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while return flights are scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. It is already possible to book.
“We are delighted to expand our network and to offer this trendy destination for the first time”, rejoices Nicolas Hénin, deputy general manager of sales and marketing for Transavia France in a press release.
A polluting means of transport
As a reminder, the plane remains a polluting means of transport, whose particle emissions vary according to the distance traveled (prefer a long-haul flight rather than a short flight) and the seat you occupy (carbon emissions per passenger and per kilometer are three times higher in business class and four times higher in first class than in economy class).
It is also better to opt for the non-stop flight, as here, which saves the fuel necessary for this additional take-off.
