transactions boosted by more than 77% in 2021 by the shares of Socapalm, La régionale and Safacam

(Ecofin Agency) – Up to 10 companies, including some proposed by the CEMAC States, might soon boost stock market activities on this financial market.

The total value of transactions carried out on the securities of companies listed on the BVMAC in 2021 peaked at 307.2 million FCFA, reveals the annual report of the unified financial market of the CEMAC zone (Cameroon, Congo Rep, Gabon, Chad, CAR and Equatorial Guinea). This value is up 77% year-on-year.

« This increase is driven by the increase in transactions on Safacam, Socapalm and La Regionale, respectively by 3,773%, 6% and 100% compared to 2020. At the end of 2021, the amount of transactions for each of these values ​​are set respectively at 117 million FCFA, 167.6 million FCFA and 12.55 million FCFA, once morest 3.02 million, 158.19 million in 2020 and 0 FCFA for La régionale which was not yet listed in 2020 », Explains the BVMAC.

Invest in Cameroonreminds that despite the unification of the two markets which competed in the CEMAC zone, the BVMAC has so far listed only 5 lines of action. Two other companies, in particular the Equatoguinean Bange Bank and the Gabonese insurer SCG Ré have triggered the listing process on this financial market.

Eight other public companies proposed by Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Congo, as part of the BVMAC revitalization plan, are also in the starting blocks, to boost stock market activity in the CEMAC space.
