Initially scheduled for early May, the major change in traffic around the Opera will begin on June 1 and will last until the end of August. The tram site will, in fact, switch to the Opera side, going up Boulevard de la Sauvenière up to Rue de la Montagne.
Coming from boulevard d’Avroy then Sauvenière, from rue de la Montagne, it will temporarily no longer be possible to continue straight towards the Opera. A temporary detour will therefore be set up a little before, via Place Xavier-Neujean and Rue Hamal, to reach the Opera roundregarding.
Crossing Boulevard de la Sauvenière to Place de la République française will then always be possible. It is not yet that they will become dead ends forever.
This diversion will also be used by buses of line nº1 and nº48. In order to guarantee the fluidity of traffic, it will be essential to respect the parking zones on Place Xavier Neujean. The shops and the Neujean, Central Park and Opéra car parks will remain accessible.
One way, rue Joffre
Another important and final consequence this Monday, June 5, the construction area that will pass FNAC side will lead to the one-way setting of the street towards the Opera in its final configuration. It will therefore never once more be possible to go from the Opera to Place Saint-Lambert.
Here are three recommended routes to reach Liège-Saint-Lambert station from the city center:
1. Coming from Boulevard d’Avroythe path to take will be via the Sainte-Marie hopper and the Burenville exit to go down to Place Saint-Lambert.
2: Coming from the quays, the route will be via la Batte, rue des Aveugles and rue Hors-Château.
3: Coming from the Operaa circuit taking the roundregarding and the rue des Prémontrés and the avenue Maurice Destenay will allow you to join route nº1.
Motorists, we will therefore have to adopt new big habits.
