There was a collision between a tram and a truck at the Holländischer Platz stop on Monday morning. Several people were injured.
+++ 4.40 p.m.: The route between the Am Stern intersection and the Vellmar Nord turning loop has been free for trams and RegioTrams for a few minutes, says KVG press spokeswoman Heidi Hamdad. “However, numerous bus lines in particular are experiencing long delays or cancellations due to the traffic jams in and around Dutch Road, combined with the current rush hour,” says Hamdad.
The number of injured has now increased to 11, says Matthias Mänz, spokesman for the police headquarters in North Hesse. According to the current status, ten passengers between the ages of 31 and 81 were injured, four of them seriously. The 57-year-old tram driver was also seriously injured and taken to a hospital. There is apparently no danger to life for any of the injured. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
In addition to the injured passengers who were treated on site by the rescue service or taken to hospitals, other people reported to the police during the day who said they had been on the tram and were injured.

The Kassler Verkehrs- und Versorgungs GmbH (KVV) expects the route to be released “in the late followingnoon”, it said at noon. A replacement bus service in the closed section will be set up.
