“We apologize for the impact on today’s traffic.” At least 14 Eurostar trains canceled due to track closure near London, announces Saturday December 30 the company. According to the British agency PA, trains were canceled due to flooding of a tunnel in the south of England. The ITV News channel broadcast images of a major water leak in a railway tunnel.
The PA agency adds that they have been deleted “until the end of the day” while heavy rains are still expected. For the moment, on the company site, only one train is maintained in the morning in both directions of traffic. On social networks, travelers report on the situation from Saint-Pancras station in London.
London St Pancras International is in chaos.
All Eurostar and Southeastern trains this morning cancelled due to flooding in the tunnel beneath the Thames.

These cancellations, which occur during one of the busiest weekends of the year, will strand thousands of passengers. On December 21, in the middle of the holiday departure period, Eurostar passengers were already faced with numerous train cancellations due to a surprise strike which paralyzed the Channel Tunnel.
