The trailer for “Parallel – Caught Between Worlds” takes place in a small space and only shows a few characters. Despite this (or precisely because of this?), the indie work with its intense atmosphere and story is likely to make it onto some watchlists. Also on yours?
“Parallel – Caught Between Worlds” joins the phalanx of thrillers such as “Never Let Go”, which has just been released on German screens, and “Lazareth – End Of Days”, which has just been released in home cinemas. As with these titles, which are also made with a very small cast, the main characters live in a secluded house in the forest. They prefer to have nothing to do with the rest of the world.
In North America, “Parallel” debuted in select theaters in February of this year. One of the few reviews that can be found online (but almost entirely positive) calls the work the “Multiverse thriller for people who normally find such films too hectic.”
“Parallel – Caught Between Worlds” will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on November 21, 2024:

The other main roles alongside “Till” star Danielle Deadwyler are taken on by Aldis and Edwin Hodge. The film is a remake of the Chinese thriller “Parallel Forestfrom 2020.

Vanessa reluctantly agrees and the trio sets off. Once there, they hear strange noises in nature that almost sound like explosions. Martel remembers his dad talking about bizarre occurrences and missing locals before he, too, disappeared without a trace. Alex thinks the whole thing is nonsense. He is convinced that their father simply abandoned them when they were children. But then Vanessa is almost shot while walking in the woods by a woman who looks exactly like her…
