The girl, who was soon to turn two years old, died in a clinic in the Kalininsky district of St. Petersburg as a result of complications following vaccination. The Agency for Investigative Journalism (AJUR) became aware of this on October 9.
Police established that from September 28 to October 6, the child was treated at St. Mary Magdalene Hospital following receiving the diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine at the clinic. Then the mother, a citizen of Uzbekistan, took her daughter home for treatment, signing a waiver of hospitalization.
On the morning of October 8, the girl became ill. The mother called an ambulance. Doctors examined the child and recommended going to the hospital. The woman brought her daughter to clinic No. 10, where she died in the presence of doctors. The corpse was taken to the morgue to determine the exact cause of death.
A 27-year-old mother of a child came to St. Petersburg in the summer of 2022 with her daughter to work. She raised the baby alone.
