He accused of killing the Uber driver who was transporting him in New OrleansLouisiana, picked her at random, authorities revealed.
The Jefferson Parish County Sheriff’s Office stated that on December 8, Yolanda Dillion, 54, parked at a city hotel to drop off the passenger. It was at that moment that the suspect attacked her with a knife. The victim later died at a hospital due to her injuries.
Authorities said the shooter, identified as Brandon Jacobs, 29, selected Dillion at random. The man recorded the attack and posted the video on his Facebook profileaccording to the sheriff’s office report.
Jacobs allegedly confessed to officers following his arrest that he woke up in the morning and decided that this would be the day to kill someoneSheriff Joseph Lopinto III specified in a press conference that, when officers questioned him to establish the motive for the crime, the man’s response was: ‘I did not choose her. The investigation showed that the man planned to attack the driver of another vehicle that he boarded first, but gave up and decided to attack the person who would take him back to the Travelodge hotel, where he was staying.

For its part, the Uber company told The Washington Post that they are working with the authorities to clarify the case and that they contacted the family to offer their condolences. “We are deeply disturbed by this senseless attack”, stated the spokesperson.
Video of the attack was removed from Facebook. The suspect left the gun at the scene following the attack and entered the hotel where Dillon had taken him. There he was detained by the authorities. Jacobs faces second-degree murder charges.
