NEW YORK — A teenager died and a second was hospitalized following police sources said they were “surfing” on the Brooklyn subway.
The tragedy occurred around 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bushwick Avenue subway station, where the couple were struck by a Manhattan-bound train.
When the train the 14-year-olds were riding went from the surface into an underground tunnel, authorities say they were knocked off the top of the train.
The teenager who survived was said to be in critical condition.

L train service was running with long delays before the evening rush hour.
In an evening press conference with the New York Police Department, Mayor Eric Adams demanded that TikTok remove videos showing children riding the subway. He says those videos have been viewed millions of times.
