‘Pujaris were not ready for the last rites of a five-year-old girl’

Kochi: Revat, who performed the last rites of the five-year-old girl who was killed in Aluva the other day, was not prepared by the priests. No priest was willing to perform the last rites of the girl. Revat told the media that they all asked if he was a child of Hindi people. Revat added that he did not do any deed knowingly and those who insulted the girl were not human beings.

I thought that there is nothing to do, not our child, I can do the deed myself. Not knowing any karma. So far only one person has died. When I heard their question, I felt very sad,’ Revat said.

The body of a five-year-old girl who was brutally raped in Aluva was cremated at 11 am today. The cremation took place at Kirmad Panchayat crematorium. The cremation was held at Taikkattukara School following it was laid out for public viewing.

Hundreds of people, including classmates, teachers and locals, had come to Taikkatukara School to pay their respects to the girl. It was put on public view for two hours. A whole country bid farewell to the child with tears.
