Police confirmed that one person died inside the Unicentro shopping center.
Apparently a man shot his ex-sentimental partner and the woman died, reported Blu Radio.
The man involved would have shot himself but survived and was transferred to a medical center where he is receiving care and has vital signs.
For her part, the mayoress of Bogotá, Claudia López, through Twitter, said:
“Bogota Police reports to me that a man entered Unicentro, argued with his partner, a young woman who worked in a store, shot her and then committed suicide. Police have the place under control and advance the investigation. We regret the deplorable event and ask the public to evacuate the place.

What did Unicentro say?
Through a statement, Unicentro Bogotá reported that at 5:00 in the followingnoon, this “unfortunate” incident occurred inside the shopping center in which one person shot another.
“The fact is under investigation by the authorities and they will be the ones to point out the causes of it. This is an isolated, specific and particular event between the two people, one of whom died, ”he assured.

Alarm
At the time of the shots, the people who were inside the shopping center ran without knowing exactly what was happening. This was noted in several videos that circulated on social networks.
The Unicentro shopping center announced that as soon as the femicide occurred, they proceeded to carry out the established protocol to take care of the integrity of the other people present.

On the other hand, Unicentro regretted what happened in full celebration of Mother’s Day and assured that they will work together with the authorities to clarify the facts.
The general manager of Unicentro, Camilo Moreno, explained that the event is “isolated, punctual and particular” between two people.
For its part, the Bogotá Security Secretariat confirmed that the victim at the Unicentro shopping center was identified as 26-year-old Érika Aponte Lugo.
