A man in his 30s who shot and killed all three of his young sons in Ohio has been arrested by police.
According to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office on the 17th (local time), police received a 911 call from a woman crying at 4:15 pm on the 15th that “children were shot.” Three minutes later, the driver of a car passing by the road in front of the same house called 911 to report, “I saw a child run out onto the road, and the child’s father is killing everyone.”
Police rushed to the house in Monroe Township, where the report was made, and arrested Chad Doorman, 32, who was sitting on the steps outside the house.
Police found three young boys lying in the yard with gunshot wounds and attempted first aid. However, all the children died at the scene. All of these children are Doorman’s sons, identified as being 3, 4 and 7 years old, respectively.
The children’s mother (34) was also taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds in her hand, but the police said there was no danger to her life.
Doorman was charged with aggravated murder and held in county jail.
According to the Associated Press, Doorman, who appeared in court on the 16th for indictment proceedings, admitted to killing the children with a rifle, saying he planned the crime.
Clermont County District Attorney David Gast said a child tried to run outside during the incident, but Doorman took the son “on a hunt” and brought him back. He said the murder was the worst crime he had ever seen.
Investigators did not disclose a motive for Doorman’s crime.
