The Asian music industry has been shocked by the news of the Hong Kong diva Coco Lee who died. He died at the age of 48 years.
Coco Lee is known as a Hong Kong-born American diva, songwriter, record producer, and actress. Last weekend, he was found to have attempted suicide.
The news of his departure was confirmed by Coco Lee’s sisters, Nancy and Carol through his personal social media account. The first Mandarin musician to hit the American market, he battled depression for years and attempted suicide on Sunday (2/7) local time.

“With deep sadness, we are here to deliver the most devastating news. Coco has been suffering from depression for the past few years but her condition has worsened drastically in the last few months,” wrote Nancy, as seen by detik.com.
Earlier in the year, Coco Lee told her fans she wanted to live on and try to stay positive despite the great odds.
“With love and faith, my two favorite words that I take to heart. I really needed these words to get through these very difficult years,” wrote Coco Lee.
The upload was accompanied by nine photos. Including a tattoo with the word ‘love’ on his left wrist. He also uploaded a photo of himself with a drainage bag on his body.
“Life can seem unbearable at times, but I’ve adapted the attitude of a ‘woman warrior’ to face them without fear,” she wrote.
Coco Lee has had a career in the music world for 30 years. CoCo Lee’s song, ‘Do You Want My Love’, even perched at number four on the Billboard charts in December 1999.
CoCo Lee is also the voice actor for the song ‘A Love Before Time’, in the film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and was nominated for The Best Original Song at the 2001 Academy Awards. The singer ‘A Love Before Time’ was born in Hong Kong and entered the music industry in 1994, producing more than 15 albums and amassing sales in the tens of millions.
